Questions
Why do some words ask me to choose?
Words such as “read” or “lead” have more than one pronunciation. The tool shows both and lets you choose for each occurrence.
What does “not in this dictionary” mean?
The word is not covered by the pronunciation data. It does not mean the word has no pronunciation; you can enter your own IPA.
Does it listen to my voice?
No. It transcribes written text into reference pronunciations; it does not record or analyse speech.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The pronunciation data is downloaded to your browser and the text is transcribed there.
